For five years I suffered intensely throughout the summer and fall months with hay-fever, and physicians and specialists were unable to afford me any relief; in fact, they informed me that there was no cure known and that the trouble would grow worse every year. Friends had urged me repeatedly to try Christian Science, and at last, when sight, taste, and smell were affected, and it seemed that my mind would be also, I decided to follow their advice. The first treatment brought relief, in a week all violent attacks had ceased, and I was able, through my own understanding of the truth, to deny and destroy any symptom that presented itself afterward. During the present year, I am very thankful to say, I have been absolutely free from any trace of the old trouble.

In January, 1907, while riding a bicycle, I was run over by a large double-seated automobile and picked up unconscious. The knowledge and understanding of the presence and power of divine Love saved me from being entirely crushed, and this was again evident when I was awakened by the words, "Take her to a doctor," and being unable to recall my own name or address, I could only remember the street where my practitioner lived, and was taken directly there. My entire body was bruised and hurt and one arm was badly injured, but after being given treatment, all pain ceased, and in an hour I went home alone on the cars, and not only prepared dinner, but played the piano during the evening. Though somewhat lame and covered with bruises, I was able to keep all my appointments and to attend to my usual household affairs, and walked to the practitioner's house in the cold or rain every morning for a week. In less than a month I had entirely recovered and was riding the wheel again. For this wonderful deliverance and perfect healing, I am deeply grateful to God, and also to Mrs. Eddy.
