The day after Christmas of 1907, I turned to Christian Science...
The day after Christmas of 1907, I turned to Christian Science, and I thank God each day for this best of all Christmas presents. When Science found me I had extreme nervous suffering, and had not slept one night in three months without taking some sort of an opiate. I was also greatly reduced in flesh as well as in strength, but now I sleep like a child, have become quite robust, and am not conscious that I have any nerves.
I was attacked with malignant throat trouble shortly after coming to Science, and this disease was overcome in four days, with practically no suffering after the first treatment and without my losing one meal; whereas always before I had suffered most severely for about three weeks and it had been impossible for me to take food at all. Quite recently I was awakened at four o'clock in the morning with the most severe symptoms, which seemed to be the result of poisoning. I did not get help that morning until about nine o'clock, when the attack was met almost instantly. By evening of that day all pain had left me and I was absolutely well.
For these and the many other blessings,—the peace of mind and the freedom, from worry that Christian Science has brought to me,—I wish to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to that dear woman, Mrs. Eddy, who has shown us this wonderful healing truth.
