I have felt for some time that it was a duty I owed to...

I have felt for some time that it was a duty I owed to suffering humanity, to give my testimony of what Christian Science has done for me. The spring of 1905 found me suffering from what materia medica called a malignant growth with dropsical complications, and after being examined by three doctors, it was decided that the only thing which could do me any good would be an operation for the removal of the tumor. I was taken to a hospital and the operation was begun, but it was found, when the growth was located, that it would be impossible to remove it, and save my life; so it was decided to empty it, and go no farther. At the same time my husband was told that this was all that could be done, and that I might live a few months; but as I was growing weaker each day, I realized only too clearly that without relief my stay here must be very short.

I was then advised by a dear daughter to try Christian Science, although it seemed that I could have but little faith in it. I, however, thought it could do no harm to try, so I was taken to see a Christian Science practitioner, and placed myself in her care. I was given treatment while there, and absent treatment was continued for a week, when I was taken there again; but I could not say that I was feeling any better. The treatment was continued, and during the second week I found myself greatly improved as to strength, and the effects of the growth were rapidly disappearing. At the end of the third week I was able to take charge of my home again, and in a very short while found myself feeling as well as of old. During the next year I was healed of a very severe attack of heart trouble, when it was thought I could not possibly recover, and since that time I have experienced a few minor difficulties, which Christian Science has aided me to overcome.

I am indeed thankful to God, and to dear Mrs. Eddy, for the help I have received through Christian Science. I have not as yet received the spiritual consciousness of sight for which I am striving, but I know that by being faithful the demonstration will be completed. I will gladly answer all inquiries in reference to my healing.
