THE LECTURES

Teck Theater was filled to its utmost capacity, including the uppermost gallery, yesterday afternoon [Dec. 13], to listen to a lecture on Christian Science by Miss Mary Brookins of Minneapolis. Her presentation of the subject was not in the least perfunctory, but partook of a positive and genuine conviction, coupled with a kindly and gentle persuasiveness that not only kindled in the thought of her listeners an absorbing interest but a desire to know more of a philosophy which is presenting such strong claims for recognition throughout the civilized world. Miss Brookins was introduced by Charles Holcomb of First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Buffalo.—The Buffalo Commercial.

Hon. Clarence A. Buskirk of St. Louis addressed a large audience at the Jefferson Theater last evening [Dec. 6]. In introducing the lecturer, Frank C. Barrett, the First Reader of the local church, said:—
