Mrs. Eddy says, "Christianity is again demonstrating the Life that is Truth, and the Truth that is Life" (Science and Health, p. 97). Every day has for me some proof of the correctness of the above statement, and I joyfully bear testimony to the healing and saving power of Christian Science. Through the study of Science and Health and the loving help of loyal Christian Scientists I have been lifted out of a religion of faith without works to a gospel of works by faith, and as a result of this mental journey of a few years I have been greatly strengthened, physically, mentally, and spiritually. A chronic rheumatic trouble of many years' standing was healed through reading Science and Health.

A recent experience of healing in our family proved to us the value of the Sentinel, and the need of the full armor of Truth in demonstrating God's allness. I received a telephone message one morning from my wife, that our baby girl had run upon a hot register in her bare feet, burning them terribly. I seemed unable at once to "hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true" (Science and Health, p. 261), until the experience of a father, as given in the Christian Science Sentinel, came to my thought. His child was threatened with a contagious disease, and by knowing the truth,—that "no sin having been committed, no suffering was possible, for such would be contrary to God's law,"—this had restored health and harmony. I at once took our little girl mentally to the arms of divine Love, feeling safe and secure in the thought that Truth and Love were sufficient for her. Anchored in thought to the idea of omnipotent good, I denied sin and held to God's allness, adhering strictly to the rule, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me," knowing that this innocent child should not suffer pain, as it would be contrary to God's law—God being Love—and that in Love there is no pain. I kept right along in business while working mentally, and upon arriving home in the evening I was told that our baby had not suffered any and had taken her morning nap as usual. During the progress of that healing, which in a few weeks was complete, the child suffered no pain or discomfort. Her usual round of play and sleep was not interfered with, except that she played sitting down instead of running about.

Our entire family strive daily to live the truth as taught in Science and Health and the Lesson-Sermons. The church services and Sunday School were a great help in maintaining mental order during this experience of healing. To God, and to God's messenger, Mrs. Eddy, we are sincerely grateful for the peace and happiness which Christian Science has brought to our home.
