Christian Science is a recapitulation of the teachings of Jesus, and its line of argument and methods of treatment are identical with his. His treatment of economic and social questions was a reasonable one, and Christian Scientists to-day follow out the same rational line of procedure in handling such matters. Christian Science has to do with the Mind of Christ, or the Mind of the Father, and the successful Christian Scientist subjects his own human will to the divine and thinks and acts under the supervision of the Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus," the Mind which never errs and never wills ill to any, the Mind which knows and includes all good and blesses all alike in the working out of its divine behests. The individual thus dominated only by good and subject only to the will of the Father, is in a position to think and act intelligently, just as the mathematician or musician imbued with the basic teachings of his art fears neither error nor discord and recks not the opinions or "thoughts" of any.

In this line of metaphysical reasoning there is no mystery except the "mystery of godliness," made clear in the Scriptures. Mrs. Eddy's text-book on Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," is but a recapitulation of the teachings of Jesus, and contains a clear, concise exposition of Scriptural truths, which has enabled the many thousands who constitute the Christian Science following to grasp the plan of salvation as worked out in example by our Master, and to make practical his teachings in the healing of their diseases and sins and in solving the knotty problems that come up in the experience of all.
