It is with a feeling of gratitude and love to God that I give my testimony, trusting it may help to bring health and happiness to some one who is in need of this wonderful truth which makes us free. I had heard of Christian Science many times, as a brother had been interested in it for several years, also some dear friends. They had all spoken to me of Science, but I had so many ailments. according to the decisions of materia medica, that I thought it could not reach my case. I had never been strong since childhood, and was always under the doctor's care, and at this time I had been quite ill for seven or eight months, helpless most of the time, although I had kind physicians, who had been faithful.

I had prayed earnestly and faithfully for the dear Father to show me if it was right for me to accept Christian Science, and I felt I was willing to do so. I had several copies of the Sentinel and Journal which friends had sent me, and read these, also a copy of Science and Health which my dear brother had given my mother two or three years before. I had read it then, but never seemed to grasp the full meaning, although I could see many beautiful things in its teachings. Then had come an attack of throat trouble, when antitoxine was administered, and it seemed as if I could not recover. I was a nervous wreck, also had heart and stomach trouble, besides an abdominal trouble, for which an operation had been suggested as the only hope of permanent relief. I was taking various kinds of medicine for the many different diseases, also massage, yet I was confined to my room all this time, was able to go downstairs only a few times with my husband's help. After being in this condition for seven or eight months, I finally decided to try Christian Science. I looked in the Journal, praying that God would lead me to choose the right practitioner. I finally selected one, and wrote her, asking her to come and have a talk with me. She did so, and I felt better. I thought the matter over, and decided to give up my medicines and put myself in God's care. My first treatment was on Feb. 26, 1907, and the next day I was downstairs for lunch. I was down to dinner when my husband came home that evening, and I thank God that I have been able to do this ever since. That date will always be memorable to me, we were such a happy family. My husband could hardly believe his eyes, and the little girl said, "I love to set the table tonight."

Only those who have experienced such a blessing can realize the full meaning of all this. I cannot find words to express my gratitude for these blessings and many others; and my prayer is that I may be able to live and reflect this blessed truth and be able to help others.
