The Master said to one who had been healed by him, "Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee." It was about two and a half years ago that I first heard of Christian Science, and at that time I was laboring under many troubles, some of which were to mortal sense incurable. I had suffered from defective sight for upwards of fifteen years. A physician diagnosed the case and prescribed glasses for me, but they were changed several times for more powerful ones. The last time I saw an optician he told me there was only about one person in fifty who needed such powerful glasses as I did. I had also a serious rheumatic trouble for over eight years, and for over five years had not put my hands into cold water. I had spent much for doctors and drugs, and was finally told nothing could be done for me, that I would have this trouble all my life.

My shoulder was in a very bad condition, and at times one arm was helpless, but in less than six weeks after hearing of Christian Science, while I was demonstrating over the defective sight, I was healed of this painful disease. Besides the troubles mentioned, the glands in my throat were enlarged, and I was frequently troubled with loss of voice. I had a troublesome and distressing cough, and there was also a dropsical condition so that I was obliged to wear very large shoes. All these ailments have disappeared into their native nothingness and I have also been healed of others, one of which was varicose veins. On one occasion I fell, injuring my eye, and striking my head so heavily on a stone floor that I became unconscious. I had been declaring for a friend that evil had no power, and on regaining consciousness I was still declaring this truth. The fight was sharp, but eventually I went to bed and slept. I awoke early in the morning full of fear that my head and face would be discolored, but I again declared the truth, and these words came to me as clearly as though some one had spoken them, "Perfect love casteth out fear." I got out of bed at once and went to look in the mirror, which showed as the only evidence of the accident a slight red mark around the eye. The last attack overcome was a case of throat trouble. It seemed very severe, but yielded to the truth. Twice a relapse occurred, through all fear not having been destroyed; but eventually the evil was overcome by the power of Truth, and perfect harmony again reigned supreme.

I am in better health now than I have ever been in all my life, and am deeply thankful for the clearer understanding of God as revealed in Christian Science. My heart goes out in love to Mrs. Eddy for giving this healing truth to the world. "Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!"—S. G.
