One morning as I entered my room I noticed that the sun was pouring in through the east window and flooding the room with a bright light. I had been there some little time before I turned and perceived a gas-jet which had been burning behind me. The light from the sun was so strong that the lighted gas-jet had no effect whatever upon the room. I had not even been conscious that it was burning until I happened to turn and see it, though it had seemed to shine with great power the night before when all was dark. Instantly I realized the power of divine Love to obliterate every sense of discord, even as the sun had annulled the effect of the gaslight, and I was immediately healed of a sense of deafness in my left ear which I had been trying to overcome for some time. The sunshine of divine Love so filled my consciousness that it seemed as though its light penetrated my ear; and I knew the sense of deafness was powerless, though it seemed to have power when my thought was dark, i.e., devoid of the light of God's presence.
This was a beautiful lesson to me and I have rejoiced ever since; not only in regard to my healing, but in the realization of the omnipotence of God, good, as able to render null and void the seeming power of sin, disease, and death.—Persis E. Stuart, Montclair, N. J.
