In looking back over my experience, say for the past...

In looking back over my experience, say for the past twelve years, I note with a thankful heart the good that has come to me through my acceptance of Christian Science. I name twelve years, although it is just six years since the new life began for me; but by comparing this with an even period preceding, the evidences of growth are the more notable. These are a few of the errors that have been corrected or wholly destroyed in my consciousness in the time named: irritability, indifference to the interests of those around me, faultfinding and worry, delicate physique and many chronic physical ailments, all of which conspired to plunge me deeper and deeper into the quick-sands of fear and discouragement. To-day I rejoice in a growing sense of patience, love for my fellows, an unforced cheerfulness of disposition, better morals, and perfect health. And what can I say to express the gratitude I feel for the spiritual awakening that has wrought this transformation, in that where I was once blind (non-church-going and ignorant of God and the Scriptures), I now begin with an absorbing interest to perceive the light, and to take an ever-growing interest in the Church of Christ, Scientist, of which I have the privilege of being a member. Perhaps I can best express this acknowledgment of benefits received in the language of David: "Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name!" "Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases." My gratitude also extends most reverently to Mrs. Eddy, who has brought God's healing message, Christian Science, to me and my house.
