Prior to last August I knew little or nothing about...
Prior to last August I knew little or nothing about Christian Science. At that time I had for many months been suffering from serious stomach troubles. This brought on nervous ailments and day by day I was getting in a more serious condition. It was almost impossible for me to eat or sleep, and I was living mostly on stimulants. The medicine given me by doctors only seemed to increase my misery; many nights I walked the streets, being unable to sleep or to be confined in a room. My business took me to New York, and while there, by chance as it seemed, I called on a friend who is a Scientist. When my friend saw my condition she told me about Christian Science. I called again, and she persuaded me to attend service with her on the following day. This was a trying ordeal in my nervous condition, but I was benefited by the service for I was able to sleep that night. The next day I went to a practitioner, and in three or four treatments I was perfectly cured of all my stomach and nervous troubles, and also completely healed of double hernia of fifteen years' standing. For these demostrations of healing I thank God, and I shall always be thankful to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy. for bringing to light this wonderful truth.—F. J. Chapman, Atlanta, Ga.
