It has long been in my thought to say a word of gratitude...
It has long been in my thought to say a word of gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. For three years I was an invalid, afflicted with what my family physician and three specialists diagnosed as a severe case of throat, lung, and stomach trouble. I had undergone an operation for catarrhal trouble in a severe form, and my throat was in a very bad condition. I could neither sleep nor eat without terrible suffering. Every doctor whom I consulted would give me the same answer,—that he could not cure me, but only help me temporarily. When I had given up in despair, a very dear friend, on hearing of my condition, asked me to try Christian Science, as she had been healed by it of a severe ailment. I decided that if she had been healed there might be a chance for me, and my husband took me to a practitioner. After the first treatment I was able to eat a hearty dinner of solid food, and never felt the least discomfort from so doing. I went home feeling like a new creature. I continued the treatment for three weeks, and was entirely healed,—a well woman!
It is now over five years since I was healed and I can say there is not a single trace of the old disease. Since I was healed I have had many experiences, both for myself and in my family, which have proved the power of Truth. I can now do all the work for a family of six. I wish to express my gratitude to our dear Leader for the good she has done, not only to me and mine but to all mankind. I am still more grateful for the spiritual uplifting, and the understanding of how to live aright, than even for the bodily healing. Each demonstration, whether over sin or disease, brings a sweet sense of divine Love. I am thankful for Science and Health and for the periodicals, through which our Leader has given this truth to the world, that all may follow more closely in the footsteps of the Master.
Mrs. Maggie N. Boyer, Pass Christian, Miss.
