During the summer of 1897, while in the country, I...

During the summer of 1897, while in the country, I injured my finger severely. I retired early that night, but could not sleep as the finger and indeed the whole arm became very painful. A piece of wood was so firmly embedded in the flesh that I could not get it out. Just then a neighbor passed my window, and seeing the light spoke to me. I told her of my trouble, and she said she would help me. I think she had scarcely reached her room before the splinter was out of my finger. I went to bed and slept all night. The following day I was told not to look at the finger, and I did not—I had forgotten all about it. About eight o'clock the next evening I was filled with astonishment and awe to see that every trace of the injury was gone. Another time, druing the same year, I injured another finger severely. I bound it up, and asked for help, as it seemed quite painful. In less than an hour afterwards I found that the healing had already taken place. These demonstrations were made by one who was earnestly studying Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I could never tell one half of what this truth has been to me. I only wish every one would try it.
