AMONG THE CHURCHES
IN Compliance with the proclamation of Governor Guild of Massachusetts, setting apart Feb. 12 as Lincoln Day, and calling for the appropriate observance of the occasion, a service was held in The Mother Church of Christ, Scientist, at 10.45 in the forenoon. It was estimated that the congregation present numbered about three thousand, and we are informed that similar services in branch churches throughout the State were also well attended. The subject of the specially prepared Lesson-Sermon was "Liberty and Freedom," the Golden Text, 2 Corinthians, 3:17, and the Responsive Reading, Isaiah, 61.:1—4; Isaiah, 62:1, 2, 11, 12. The following citations comprised the Sermon:—
I.
The Bible, Science and Health,
Isaiah, 58:6, 8; 225—28;
Romans, 8 : 18, 19, 226—5 to 2 next page.
II.
Luke, 4 : 14, 16—19, 21; 224—28;
John, 8 : 31, 32. 225—13 to 27;
227—20 to 25.
