It is difficult to make out what good purpose is served by the alleged "exposes" of Mrs. Mary Baker G. Eddy. These "disclosures" do not shake the confidence of Mrs. Eddy's followers in her and they are not needed by those who do not accept the teachings of Mrs. Eddy on Christian Science. Whether or not the mass of the people believe in Mrs. Eddy's teachings, all must admit that thousands of intelligent, conscientious, reputable people throughout the land do believe in Christian Science and its Founder, and that belief is entitled to respect. Mere chivalry would also dictate that Mrs. Eddy should be proof against the rude personal assaults made upon her by men who should be better employed.
