LETTERS TO OUR LEADER
London, England, Jan. 11, 1907.
Dear Mrs. Eddy:—For some time past I have wished to write to you, to express my sense of the wonderful work which you are accomplishing in this age, and to thank you personally for the benefits which I have myself received. Your book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," came to me about three years ago, at a time when, as a clergyman of the Church of England and in a responsible position, I often felt that I did not know which way to turn, in my sense of what the teaching of the Bible really implied and as to the true meaning of a Christian denomination. Your patient efforts to open our eyes to this great and increasingly obvious fact have touched me very deeply; they have awakened me to many deficiencies and set me working in the right path. I became a member of your church,—The Mother Church in Boston,—some time ago. I have also joined First Church of Christ, Scientist, in London; and shall endeavor to make my life more worthy in every direction of this new understanding of the changeless Truth. I am
