This testimony is but a very small statement of the good I have experienced in Christian Science, and the gratitude I feel for the truth as made known to me through the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, in connection with the Bible. I was first drawn to investigate Christian Science by witnessing the healing of my mother of an injury which had defied the skill of materia mediea for weeks, and which yielded to the truth in three treatments. Seeing this wonderful cure, as it then seemed to me, I knew it was wrought by no other than God's power. I resolved to learn more of it, and as soon as possible I began the search. Since then, in my own family, fevers, lung trouble, etc., have been overcome. One daughter, who had worn glasses for eight years, laid them away long ago by reading the "little book." A few days ago my little boy. who was barefooted, was helping his father to hitch up a horse, and it brought a hoof down squarely upon the boy's foot. He instantly cried out with pain, but I talked with him a few minutes and we both declared God's ever-presence and all-power and the nothingness of matter. In fifteen minutes the child was perfectly free from pain, and in an hour all swelling and marks had disappeared. Being the mother of a large family, the many anxieties and worries that come to all mothers, in mortal sense, have been my lot, but I am able to rise above them a short time after they assail me. and my heart is lighter and I am happier than when I was a girl. For all of these blessings I am very grateful to divine Love, and to our dear Leader. who is so faithful and long suffering in bringing the light to misguided mortals. I also wish to express my gratitude for the help received from our periodicals and the Lesson-Sermons.—Mrs. Mabel McMakin, Louisville, Ky.
