Recently I suddenly realized that I had a well developed case of disease, brought on apparently by most unusual physical and mental strain covering a period of two weeks, during which time I was constantly on the move, on foot and in street cars from early morning until late in the day, at the same time being compelled to work until near midnight each night on most perplexing business matters. My suffering was so intense and unceasing that I had little sleep or rest day or night: walking greatly intensified the pain, and in sitting I had to use means to deaden the sensibility of the affected parts. I became very fearful and saw the several possibilities and probabilities which present themselves at such times to the unscientific mortal thought; the hospital, the surgeon's knife and his bill for removing the obnoxious growth, also the after-conditions, which might be worse, etc.

In this condition I was led to consult a Christian Science practitioner, from whom I had one treatment. In less than forty-eight hours the pain and fear had almost gone: the supports used in sitting were discarded: restful sleep was found, and in less than a week the external manifestation had entirely disappeared. Another result of this one application of the healing power of Truth seems worthy of notice, especially since I had made no request for help other than for the conditions above noted. For many years an aggravated condition of bowel trouble had caused me constant discomfort, though not sufficiently painful to suggest a surgical operation. With the disappearance of the trouble first mentioned came the complete healing of the internal chronic condition, and now, over a month after the treatment, I am perfectly free from either of the troubles indicated.

The world is rapidly coming to appreciate the life and work of that noble woman. Mrs. Eddy. who has again shown that the power of Truth heals both sickness and sin, now as it did nineteen hundred years ago.
