Christian Science has gone steadily forward; its growth stimulated no doubt by the unjustifiable attacks of those who misunderstand it. The greater number of its advocates come to it from the older churches, proving thereby that the quality of its Christianity is of the kind that satisfies the experienced Christian. In dealing with the doctrine of atonement, as well as with all other questions relating to our Saviour's teaching and practice, it establishes and defends its position by works as well as words. It heals the sick in pursuance of our Master's plan. It binds up the broken-hearted. It makes no denial of God's creation, as our critic charges. but seeks to build up a realizing sense of its permanence and reality in human consciousness. Christ is enthroned in the heart of every follower of this faith as the ever-abiding Saviour who said. "Lo. I am with you alway." Christian Science presents no inconsistencies to the faithful student. It is ever at one with the gospel as taught and practised by the Master, who bade his followers do the works that he did. and chided unbelievers for their lack of faith in God's power to heal as well as save. Mrs. Eddy, the Founder and Leader of the Christian Science movement, urges Christian Scientists to follow her only as she follows Christ, and there need be no fear that any calamity will come upon those who head this plea. It is a call to practical Christian living.
