In loving gratitude I submit the following testimony of my healing by Christian Science. In February. 1895. after suffering from extreme nervousness for a year, an acute attack of illness confined me to bed for three weeks. A few days after getting up. a relapse again brought me low, and kept me there until the middle of June. A kidney and bladder disease had developed, accompanied with heart trouble and other ailments. Despite a stay of three months at some mineral springs, despite the patient ministrations of an indulgent family and the constant attendance of a noble physician who stands high in his profession, and who was besides a trusted and tried family friend, I was still a physical sufferer.—a nervous wreck, irritable, despairing, rebelling at my pitiful weakness and crying out for help. Could a just God willingly afflict His helpless children? Had not the creator of the universe power to care for human sufferers?

One particularly dark and miserable day Christian Science was suggested to me. I had never met any Christian Scientists, nor seen any Christian Science literature, and my ignorance of the subject was complete. It was recalled that during my protracted illness a lady whom Christian Science had healed had left some Christian Science Journals, but because of an eye trouble the physician had discouraged any attempt at reading. and the literature had been returned. With the memory of that call as our only guide, the seeking began, and how great has been the finding. The first treatment brought relief from a dull pain which until then had been an almost constant companion, and a few weeks' treatment brought complete healing. A study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy has convinced me that the promises of the Bible are not too good to be true, and Christian Science teaches us how to prove them true. Is it any wonder that a song of joy rings in my heart, that for the asking, seeking, and knocking God gave me physical healing, mental peace, and spiritual enlightenment?

Is it any wonder that I have a deep reverence and gratitude for the patient and unselfish labors of the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science? During all these years Christian Science has been my only medicine, my sole physician, and has ministered to all my needs. An application of its teaching has also been proven of inestimable value in the practical affairs of daily life.
