I was healed by reading Science and Health about eighteen years ago. I had quite a number of ailments, chief among them being throat trouble, from which I had suffered since childhood. If I was in the least exposed to the weather, or got my feet wet, I was sure to have a terrible time with my throat, so that I could neither speak nor swallow. Different physicians had been tried, but no relief—not even temporary—had been gained from any of them, although they did their best. Lancing was tried many times, but always failed to relieve me. It was after one of these awful experiences that Christian Science was presented to me in a very practical way. I came to know personally of the healing, and wanted it for myself. I got the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and began to read it, and was healed perfectly, or rather I was born again, for it changed things for me entirely. The suffering and pain had passed away and I knew they could never have any power over me again. On the third day after the reading began I threw away all my medicines and remedies of every kind and have never had occasion to return to them.
