Fourteen years ago I was healed through Christian Science of a condition of the lungs which the family physician had pronounced incurable. My mother died of the same trouble when I was not yet four years old, and because I was a frail child the family always maintained that I had inherited pulmonary weakness. When the thing which I so greatly feared did come upon me. I felt absolutely hopeless, and knew that the physicians really could do nothing to save me; that while I might live three or four months, I could not hope for anything more.

When in the depths of grief at leaving a devoted husband and two young children, I was told of Christian Science. I immediately sought help through its means and received treatment for about three weeks. I was so much benefited that I bought a copy of Science and Health and commenced reading. I soon saw that it was possible for me to be healed, but I seemed to feel that the healing must come through my own adherence to the truth. I was so desperate in my desire to live that I gave up everything to understand Christian Science. I would not read a newspaper or magazine for fear my thought would be disturbed. I read our text-book and the Bible constantly, and one day in reading the verse from Psalms, "I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness," I had such a sense of man as His likeness that I knew I was healed. It was some weeks before I looked well, but I was healed in less than two months from the day I turned to the truth to find Life. I have never had a return of the disease and I am now a strong, well woman.

I cannot adequately express my gratitude in words, but I hope I may so live that I shall reflect this glorious healing truth to my fellow men and women and thereby show my love and gratitude to God and to our Leader for the blessings which have been bestowed upon me.
