The Lectures

Edward A. Kimball, C.S.D., of Chicago, delivered a lecture on Christian Science yesterday afternoon [April 10] at Hazard's Pavilion in the city before a large audience composed of many of the leading and most intelligent citizens of Los Angeles, together with large numbers from outside towns who came from their homes purposely to attend the lecture. The speaker was introduced by Hon. Will A. Harris, in an eloquent and impressive address, commending Christian Science and its teachings, and Mrs. Eddy, its Founder, for her work. Hazard's Pavilion, with a seating capacity of over three thousand, was crowded by interested listeners, and the closest attention was given the lecturer throughout a most earnest, impressive, and able exposition of Christian Science.

Following is Mr. Harris's introduction:—

I am not a Christian Scientist, but for this organization, whose Leader is one of the purest, noblest, and best women in the world, I entertain the profoundest veneration and respect. The lofty character of Mrs. Eddy is a continuing inspiration to right living and elevated thought.
