After having delayed for so long, I at last resolved to relate my experience that others may know of the blessing which Christian Science has brought to me. Thirty years ago I was taken ill and was under treatment of six physicians. The last doctor called my disease consumption of the spinal marrow.
I was in bed for fourteen months, after that I was up and around but remained an invalid for twenty-two years and was never without medicine. I was told of Christian Science but did not then accept it, because no one could tell me what it was. Later on, a relative advised me to accept it, and said that the healing was effected through prayer, I told him that I could pray myself. The physician came again and declared that he could do no more for me. This was my last visit from any physician. My time had come and I did find the help.
A lady visited me and advised me to accept Christian Science, saying that she herself had been healed through it. She gave me some light on this subject and said that it was all contained in the Bible. I was then ready and said that this was just what I had been seeking. I begged to have a practitioner sent to me very soon. She came and spoke kindly to me and I then received treatment. After the third treatment I rose from my bed, but finding that I could not stand on my feet I sat down on the bed. The family went to dinner and I was alone. Suddenly the thought came to me that I would like something to eat. I forgot that I had been unable to stand up, but walked to the door and asked for something to eat; until then I had partaken of very light food. Thus my healing went on and I have never again used any medicine. My healing caused great surprise. When some one asked what healed me, I answered that God was my physician.
