"So shall the spiritual idea guide all right desires in their passage from sense to Soul" (Science and Health, p. 566).

This right desire, this turning from matter to Spirit, discovers the reflection of God,—the spiritual identity, the real man. This desire, if kept pure and honest, will heal the sick and cast out evil. This longing after good comes before we really understand what good is.

From my childhood, there was always an indescribable longing, an unsatisfied desire for something which I was unable to define to myself. As I grew older, the unrest grew more and more pronounced. Material things became more and more odious, less and less satisfying, the desire for rest and peace more imperative, until one day I was told of Christian Science. With my husband I attended a Wednesday evening experience meeting. I shall never forget that first gleam of light which showed me that there was satisfaction, rest, peace, and something above the material.
