I send this testimony in token of my gratitude. In the summer of 1900, I doctored about two months for a trouble which I finally began to recognize had a mental cause, and I knew that medicine could not remove it. Just at this time Christian Science was brought to my attention, and I tremblingly gave up material remedies, and took absent treatment. I would hardly have had the courage to do this, if I had not known of the healing by Christian Science of two of my relatives. I shall always remember the healing of constipation which I experienced soon after commencing treatment. If ever a doubt of the healing power of Christian Science entered my mind it was dispelled immediately by the remembrance of that healing. Nevertheless it was the mental and spiritual uplift which accompanied the experience that impressed me most. Though it was a beautiful morning in September, I had not realized its beauty, but was thinking how weak and miserable I felt, and that as soon as I had completed a certain piece of work, I would lie down the rest of the day, but now everything was changed. After the healing I became conscious at once of the beauty of the morning, I felt so happy, hopeful, and strong, and immediately planned out some sewing and went to work at it. When I compared this healing and its effects with former times while under materia medica, there was no doubt left in my mind as to which system of healing I should hereafter trust. Since then I have had better health, been stronger, and have been able to do more work than for a number of years before.

Last winter when suffering from an attack of grip so severe as to cause fear of pneumonia, I had absent treatment, and instead of being confined to the bed for several days, and unable to do anything for a week or more afterward, as had always previously been the case, I was able to do my work every day, and when the ailment was destroyed, I had no sense of weakness, but felt stronger than before.

My children never desire anything but Christian Science treatment since the eldest, after trying several remedies for sores which broke out on his face and body, and which became worse all the time, was healed almost immediately by Christian Science,—every sign of sores disappeared completely in less than a week.
