A little over two years ago Christian Science found me...
A little over two years ago Christian Science found me despondent, melancholy, and very unhappy, as I had been suffering with catarrh of the stomach for six years. I had also been wearing glasses for five years for astigmatism. A cousin who had been in Science for three years asked me to try it. I consented and took treatments for three weeks and quit. I had been benefited but not healed, and as a result I went back to medicine. I ought to say that my eyes were healed during my treatments, and I have never needed my glasses since; but while my eyes were healed my stomach trouble was not.
For the next eight months I doctored constantly, growing worse all the time, and at the end of that time I was very miserable and sick. In that state of mind I went to see my cousin and told her my troubles. She again advised me to try Christian Science and stick to it. After a struggle of about three weeks I went to see a practitioner for treatment. I stated my past experience and I shall never forget how gently but firmly she led me into this truth that makes us free. To-day I can say I am learning to understand God and God's laws.
For the encouragement of others I want to say that the way has sometimes seemed very dark and dreary, but as I was advised I have stood firm and trusted in God, and to-day I am a well woman, healed mentally, morally, physically, and spiritually, and I realize that I am beginning to live. I am perfectly well and free from all my old ailments.
