RADIO PROGRAM No. 203 - God's Law Is Practical in Business

Speaker: Our guest today had an interesting healing of a difficult business situation. He is Hugh Doddridge of Los Angeles, California, and he had convincing proof of the power of divine law in human affairs. We've asked him to tell you something of the situation. His experience will illustrate the subject of our program, "God's Law Is Practical in Business."

Now would you tell us just exactly how this experience began, Mr. Doddridge?

Mr. Doddridge: One Saturday morning a few years ago I had a phone call from the head of the company of which I was then sales manager. He had a letter from our largest customer, a customer representing about 25 per cent of our business, canceling their account. We were processors and distributors of salted nuts and had display units in several hundred of their outlets all over the country. They gave us thirty days to move them out. The letter charged us with a number of unethical practices: short-weighing, underselling to other customers, and so on. None of these charges was true; so the decision was entirely unjust. The boss was very upset about it. Loss of the account would involve a cutback in our factory force, the closing of a branch office, and a lot of expense in picking up those machines. It was also conceivable that losing this customer, with its prestige as a leader in the industry, might result in the loss of other accounts.
