On page 449 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy says, "A grain of Christian Science does wonders for mortals, so omnipotent is Truth, but more of Christian Science must be gained in order to continue in well doing." That Christian Science does indeed do wonders for mortals I have often experienced in my life.

Christian Science has broadened my whole existence and enriched it immeasurably. The blessings I have received are numerous. I am particularly grateful to know that this Science enables us to dissolve error with Love, for in this way physical ills disappear. This I proved for myself in the following way.

Many years ago I had a goiter. At that time I was suffering greatly from inharmonious conditions in my environment. I wept a great deal. Then I recalled that a Christian Science practitioner had once called upon me energetically to free myself from all self-pity. I began to think about this, and by studying earnestly the teachings of Christian Science I soon saw that self-pity is a product of personal sense, which always deludes us into accepting a limited sense of man, and that we must give up this false sense for the consciousness of God, infinite good. This led to spiritualization of my thought, and the sign following was that the disfiguring goiter disappeared.
