With joy and deep gratitude for Christian Science I write this testimony of God's healing power, presence, and loving care. In the summer of 1914 a friend whom we had known several years before but who at that time had been a physical wreck came to see me. The wonderful change wrought in her through Christian Science was noted, and I asked this friend if I might accompany her to see a Christian Science practitioner. My request was due to curiosity, for I knew nothing of Christian Science and was not religiously inclined. The Bible was a closed book, and I rarely attended church.

Only a few words from the practitioner convinced me that God is Love. I said to her, "I think I could believe in God as you know Him, but I can't understand how Christian Science can heal without medicine."

The practitioner's answer was, "Through prayer, for all things are possible with God." She talked to me so beautifully and lovingly about God and of the truth which brings freedom from bondage that I was healed instantaneously of a painful organic trouble.
