Third Church of Christ, Scientist, was organized in 1901. Services were held at 14 W. Twenty-sixth Street and later at 6 W. Lake Street. In July, 1909, the church moved into its own building which had been constructed on property purchased at W. Lake Street and Holmes Avenue.
