My daughter's healing of tubercular...

My daughter's healing of tubercular peritonitis was related in my first testimony, published in the Sentinel of October 26, 1929. That healing has been permanent. Since then, among other healings, she has had a practically instantancous one of jaundice.

One of my legs was badly scalded when I dropped a kettle of boiling water. I was able to walk to my room, where I declared "the scientific statement of being," given on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The pain stopped instantly, and I went back to my work. There was no more pain or discomfort, and there was no scar. I have experienced many other healings for which I am sincerely grateful. These proofs of God's care for His children help us all to trust God more.

At one time I was confronted with defective eyesight. I worked as we are taught in Christian Science and looked up references to "light" and "understanding" in the Concordances to the Bible and to Science and Health. Among the many inspiring statements were several on pages 468 and 487 of Science and Health. The following one was especially helpful (p. 487): "There is more Science in the perpetual exercise of the Mind-faculties than in their loss. Lost they cannot be, while Mind remains. The apprehension of this gave sight to the blind and hearing to the deaf centuries ago, and it will repeat the wonder." This statement helped me whenever I was tempted to wear glasses as a temporary measure in order not to strain my eyes.
