Many years ago, shortly after I took up the study of Christian Science, I had a convincing proof of its healing power. While running across the road one rainy day I fell heavily to the ground, and my arm was broken in two places. Help was requested of a practitioner and immediately given. I was asked not to look at the material evidence of the accident, but to keep thought steadfastly on God. This I earnestly did.

I had very little understanding of Christian Science, but I had great faith in God's power. While the practitioner was praying earnestly the arm was set then and there by mental surgery. This was very wonderful to me and brought great joy.

At the end of the day the practitioner took me to her home because of the antagonism of my family to what they thought Christian Science to be. When I returned to my home a few days later, my husband insisted that I have an X ray taken by a leading doctor. The X ray showed that the position of the broken bones was very good.
