Appreciation Is Basic
[From a teacher in a branch church Sunday School]
I teach a class of thirteen-year-old girls and boys. Three boys were added one Sunday, making eight in the class. The parents of one of these new boys had tried several churches, but they were led to the Christian Science church and then placed the son in our Sunday School. He was therefore new to Christian Science.
One Sunday the boy mentioned having been impressed with the services of another denomination. This presented the opportunity to point out the distinctive appeal of Christian Science. I explained that Christian Science shows us how to demonstrate the healing power of Truth, as taught by Christ Jesus, that Mary Baker Eddy's discovery reinstates primitive Christianity, and that Christian Science is the Comforter which Jesus promised.
