It is with great joy that I testify to the healing power of Christian Science. My first healing was instantaneous. It was of astigmatism and occurred whilst I was reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. This healing so impressed me that I felt sure that, since God could heal my eyes, He could heal anything. With confidence I threw away the various medicines I had been taking, and an instantaneous healing of chronic constipation followed.

In the eight years since then I have relied solely on God for healing. With the aid of a practitioner I have been healed of anemia, colds, sore throat, and other disturbances.

Boils were healed when a latent fear of them was uncovered and when I realized that there is no intelligence in matter. I found it helpful not to look at the trouble any more than necessary. A case of croup yielded when I saw that matter has no power to make anyone sick and that there can in reality be no material obstruction, since in Him we live and move and have our being.

The words of our lovely hymns have often been a great help to me. Once when I had influenza, which was slow to yield, a practitioner drew my attention to Hymn No. 44 in the Christian Science Hymnal, which begins, "Come to the land of peace." I quickly experienced this peace, and the influenza disappeared.

More than for all my physical healings, however, I am grateful for the spiritual understanding I have gained. It has brought a calm confidence and inner peace which are priceless. This understanding has been greatly increased by the blessing of class instruction.
