It is with a deep sense of gratitude...

It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I submit my testimony as to the efficacy of Christian Science. It was introduced to me at a time when I was left with two small daughters to support. Through reliance on this blessed truth, we were led steadily onward in proving that progress is God's law. Supply was evidenced, physical discords were overcome, and a home was provided, even during the housing shortage.

I am most humbly grateful that my two daughters have now found happiness with husbands who were also brought up in the atmosphere of Christian Science homes. After my daughters were married, and especially after having the precious privilege of class instruction, I had a sincere desire to take a more active part in our Cause. The way beautifully unfolded for me to take the nurses' training course at the Sanatorium of the Christian Science Benevolent Association on Pacific Coast. Much spiritual growth was gained during this experience. Since then it has been my joy to serve as a Christian Science nurse.

I should like to tell of a healing I experienced during the time I was having class instruction. A physical difficulty which I had had repeatedly in the past recurred. It manifested itself as an inflamed and swollen leg accompanied by pain and difficulty in walking. Through the help of a practitioner I was enabled to continue in the class, but the condition persisted. Early one morning I awakened with the thought of "A Rule for Motives and Acts," found in the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy, which reads in part (Art. VIII, Sect. 1), "Neither animosity nor mere personal attachment should impel the motives or acts of the members of The Mother Church."
