I should like to express my humble gratitude for the work of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, for by the study of her great book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," I have obtained a better understanding of God as my Father-Mother and of man as His beloved son.

Because my husband and I had a sincere desire to give our children the best religious training possible, we took part in various religious activities, attending Bible classes and listening to sermons, but we did not find that for which we were seeking. It was not until my husband was suffering from an intestinal ulcer that a colleague at his place of business offered him the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and invited him to visit his mother, who was a devout student of Christian Science. As a result of my husband's visit to this woman, we attended our first service at a Church of Christ, Scientist. My husband experienced a quick healing, and an X -ray examination, which followed because of business reasons, showed that no trace of the difficulty remained. This healing proof of God's power took place twenty years ago.

A few years ago a case of septic poisoning developed in one of my fingers. The condition did not yield to the prayerful work I did, and a member of my family got very much alarmed, as my arm was beginning to swell. I called a practitioner for help. It was lovingly given and resulted in my being mentally uplifted. Then the thought came to me, "Why not play and sing one of our hymns?" This I did, and whilst I was singing, my attention was arrested by the words found in the Christian Science Hymnal (No. 49),
