I should like to add my voice to...
I should like to add my voice to the multitude of those who are expressing gratitude to God for Christian Science. This absolute Science has been of inestimable assistance to me. When I use its precepts in daily living and also in the business world, it necessarily follows that harmonious relations are the rule instead of the exception.
The following incident illustrates the practicality of Christian Science. This is just one of a number of experiences which have proved to me that man is indeed created in the image and likeness of God.
A short time ago a client entered the office of my business associates and myself to sign a contract closing a deal that I had initiated. He brought to the office with him a friend of his who was a competitor in the same line of business that we are in. The competitor stated that our client was ready to sign the contract, but he went on to add that the deal would go through only if he, the competitor, approved of it. He stated that for this reason he was entitled to a commission. This demand was unethical and would have deprived me of my commission. A firm stand was taken, and the payment was denied. The client was told that if he was a party to this type of deal, we would rather not do business with him. Both men then left the office, with the deal unconsummated. It appeared that I had been deprived of my rightful earnings.
