I have felt for some time that I should submit a testimony of gratitude to God for all that Christian Science has done for me. My first healing came about thirty years ago. I was a healthy young person, but suddenly a heavy rash appeared on both my arms up to the elbow. I paid little attention to it at first, but it got worse each day, burning and itching so that I was unable to get adequate rest. I went to a doctor, but nothing he gave me to use made my arms any better.

I was staying at a girls' club at the time, and a friend of mine who was a Christian Scientist saw what I was going through and advised me to see a practitioner. She said, "I know that you will receive a quick healing." I accepted her advice, and she made an appointment for me.

My visit with the practitioner, I shall always remember. She lovingly told me to cover my arms when I went home so that I would not look at them. Then she loaned me the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and asked me to memorize "the scientific statement of being," on page 468. This I did. About nine o'clock that evening I found myself getting very tired, and I retired for the night. I was able to sleep soundly through the entire night. When I uncovered my arms the next morning, they were completely healed.
