THE WAY TO FREEDOM

"To mortal sense Christian Science seems abstract, but the process is simple and the results are sure if the Science is understood," states Mary Baker Eddy on page 459 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." This citation reveals the true character of Christian Science. It is not abstract and difficult, but simple and provable, as one finds out if he has a conscientious desire to understand and know more of God and His divine purpose.

Throughout the Bible we read of many experiences where those suffering from various types of physical ills found release by wholeheartedly turning to God. In Jesus' time those desiring to be healed sought his help because he exemplified the true nature of God in a way that the people of that period could comprehend. Today, through the teachings of Christian Science, we have understandable truths, derived from divine Principle, God, which we comprehend and apply to our physical problems. In her clearly envisioned revelation of this Principle and its rules, Mrs. Eddy defined the process of Christian Science healing. Moreover, she proved its possibilities before giving it to the world.

In the study of Christian Science we learn that God, the creator of man and the universe, made everything that was made, "and, behold, it was very good" (Gen. 1:31). Since creation reflects the qualities of its creator, we must conclude that God is wholly good. Those who are willing to accept this as a fundamental spiritual fact will progress toward the demonstration of freedom from evil.
