The Signs of the Times
Rev. E. Linwood Brandis in a guest editorial in the Press, Sheridan, Wyoming
One of the most significant things about the great Hebrew prophets is that they lived in a time of prosperity. It is not strange that in the ensuing centuries when the problems as well as the blessings of prosperity have been showered upon us interest has revived in the thoughts of the great Hebrew prophets.
Anyone interested in economic problems as they affect individuals can find very modern examples expressed in the writings of the prophet Amos. Family reactions under the stimulus of "having too much" were keenly recorded by the sensitive prophet Hosea.
