With Peter I can say (Acts 12: 11), "Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me." For several months my body was bowed together, and I had to lie on a board for support. I had consulted several doctors, but they did not know what was the matter.

Previous to this experience I had attended Christian Science services once or twice with a friend. When this friend went into the armed services he brought his belongings and stored them in my linen cupboard. Later he wrote requesting his ring, which was among these belongings. Although it seemed impossible for me in my condition to get his bags down, I managed to do so. While going through them in search of the ring I found a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I had read everything else in the house; so with no thought of healing I started to read Science and Health. Before I had read very far I said: "Why, this is the truth! It is what I have been looking for all my life."

As I had previously made an appointment to go to the hospital for an X-ray examination, I kept the appointment, and when the doctors were through I asked them what the condition was for which they were treating me. One doctor said, "To be truthful, we do not know."

"All right," I said, "send me home." I wanted to get back to that copy of Science and Health. I returned home and continued to read the textbook; and although there was much that I did not understand, I knew it was the truth. Within a week I was healed and back at work. I realized that in Science and Health I had found what I was hungering for, and I began to study the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly.

About a year after this healing I came down with a severe cold. It was healed through my study of the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings. Soon afterward I became a member of The Mother Church and also of a branch church, in which I have been active ever since.

One night on leaving the church after hearing a lecture, I injured my foot. Immediately I did prayerful work by realizing that there are no accidents or breakages in God's kingdom. After about ten minutes it was possible for me to walk the five blocks to my home, although I had to constantly declare the truth. That night I awoke many times and worked as we are taught to do in Christian Science. In the morning there was very little pain and no swelling or discoloration. I went to my work, where I was on my feet most of the day, and had no more trouble.

I have experienced many other healings—mental, physical, and financial—for all of which I am most grateful. Above all I am grateful for a growing understanding of our Father-Mother God and of man's relationship to Him.—John Guest, Los Angeles, California.
