For more than twenty years I have been experiencing blessings and healings through my study of Christian Science. From early youth I had met with adversity, and it took me long to uproot old beliefs; but through the teachings in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy I gained greater spiritual vision of the ever-present Christ, Truth. This brought instantaneous healings of boils, grippe, and colic. Undesirable situations, both moral and financial, were corrected, even though to mortal sense that had appeared impossible.

I am particularly grateful for the healing of timidity. This healing followed my introduction of a Christian Science lecturer. When I was notified that this work had been assigned to me, mortal mind subjected me to a feeling of inferiority, fear, loss of memory, and so forth. But thanks to the loving help of a practitioner, I was able to make the introduction calmly and effectively.

I want to mention a proof of Love's presence that happened a few years ago. A fierce fire started on the first floor of the building in which I have a second-floor apartment. The fire broke out in the middle of the night, and because of the confusion and fear that it caused I called a practitioner, who lovingly reassured me with the words, "Fear not; God is with you." From the first floor the fire went to the third and fourth floors without touching the second floor. Even so, none of the tenants suffered any major harm, and the fire was put out after several hours. In my dwelling there was not even the smell of smoke.
