Although I have been seriously interested in Christian Science for less than seven years, I have had many inspiring proofs of God's omnipotence and goodness. When I was about twelve years old my parents enrolled me in a Christian Science Sunday School. I am grateful now that they took this step, although at first it seemed difficult for me to understand and accept the truth.

When I was a senior in high school I was placed in a Sunday School class taught by a teacher who so aroused my thought that I was stimulated to ask questions. My teacher spent many hours outside of class, as well as some time during class, answering these questions. My interest in Christian Science grew, and I became desirous of learning more about the application and healing power of the truth. I shall always be grateful to this teacher, who has become a very dear friend of mine, for she not only patiently guided me while I was in her Sunday School class, but she continued to help me during and succeeding the time that I spent in college.

Christian Science enabled me to complete four years of college and two years of graduate study with higher grades and more harmonious relationships than would otherwise have been possible. I found that whenever I took my stand and relied upon God as the only source of intelligence I always received satisfactory grades. At first I joined my friends in occasional smoking and drinking, but it was brought out to me that it is an act of courage to refuse to follow the crowd when they indulge in these habits. This thought was very helpful to me, and I was never again influenced by aggressive mental suggestion in this connection.
