More than twenty-five years ago Christian Science was brought to me, and I should like to tell of a few of the many healings we have experienced in our family since then. The first was an almost instantaneous healing of mumps. Our daughter came home from school very ill. I went to a Christian Science practitioner, who gave her an absent treatment and took me with her to a Wednesday testimony meeting in a Church of Christ, Scientist. After the meeting I began to hurry home, but the practitioner calmed me and said, "The child is healed." When I arrived, the fever was gone and the girl was in a peaceful sleep. The next day every trace of the swelling had disappeared.

On another occasion my daughter had the measles and was completely covered with red spots. Although I knew very little about Science, I sat on the bed, and we both tried to realize that there was no power present but the power of God. The next evening the rash and fever had completely gone. There were no aftereffects whatsoever.

Following an accident when she was about two and a half years old, this daughter's left eye turned inward, and the sight grew very bad. When she was fifteen years old, specialists said that she would always have to wear glasses and that an operation would be needed to straighten the eye. Six months after that, by our steadfastly refusing to accept the material evidence and by our knowing that God made all His ideas perfect, her eye became straight and the vision normal. She has never worn glasses since.
