understanding of what constitutes spiritual identity is invaluable because it enables us to put off the limitations, inadequacies, and undesirable tendencies imposed by a false sense of identity.
Christian Science
teaches that man is spiritual and perfect; that he is made in the image and likeness of God, as brought out in the first chapter of Genesis.
The
fact that in Bible times the altar for sacrifice was placed at the entrance to the tabernacle may have signified that something of material sense had to be given up before one could enter the sanctuary of spiritual consciousness, where man communes with God.
