"O give thanks unto the Lord,...
"O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever" (Ps. 107:1), I did not come into Science for physical healing but to get a greater understanding of God. Christian Science has given me the correct concept of Him, and I am extremely grateful. As a result of its spiritual education, I have been blessed with many physical healings, such as those of fatigue, sore throat, colds, athlete's foot, burns, and the need to wear dark glasses in the sun. Bad traits of character, such as self-love and self-will, have been corrected. I was protected when under heavy bombardment in World War II, in two automobile accidents, and during extensive traveling.
One healing which greatly impressed me was that of a difficulty affecting one of my ears. For several weeks a constant buzz rendered hearing almost impossible through one ear and was very disturbing. No specific work was taken up in Christian Science, but a sincere study was made of God and His creation, including man. Also, regular visits to a practitioner were made for help regarding another problem. One morning something snapped in my ear, and sounds that had been inaudible for weeks suddenly became clear to me. The healing was complete.
Supply has never failed me when the truth has been rightly applied. One striking example occurred three years ago, when I was faced with the necessity of having a sum of money equal to what I usually earned in about six months. At first I tried to plan from what sources it would come, but nothing happened, though the need became more pressing. It was only when I stopped outlining, radically relied on God, and realized that supply is spiritual, inexhaustible good, that I knew the need would be met. In a very short time the necessary sum of money was provided from quite unsuspected sources. The following statement in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy greatly helped at that time (p. 60): "Soul has infinite resources with which to bless mankind, and happiness would be more readily attained and would be more secure in our keeping, if sought in Soul."
