With deep gratitude I should like to relate a healing which I received in Christian Science.

While I was filling an engagement in Alaska I broke a bone in my foot. For several weeks I limped, and neither the pain nor the swelling left me. During this period, even with my study of Christian Science and my knowing the truth, aggressive mental suggestion crept in. Mortal mind suggested that I was not a good Christian Scientist and that I should withdraw from The Mother Church and my association. This meant giving up all I loved and had worked for.

While studying one day after I had returned from Alaska, I saw all of a sudden that the break of a bone in my foot was not so important as the fact that mortal mind was trying to make me break away from my church and my association —yes, even from God, Life, Truth, and Love. When I firmly rejected its erroneous suggestion my healing came within twenty-four hours. The pain, swelling, and limping vanished; and I was perfectly free.

I am grateful for the very important lesson learned in this experience, for my spiritual growth since then has been great. The recognition that every material belief would try to separate us from God, good, has enabled me to cling more stead-fastly to the truth.

I wish to express my gratitude for membership in The Mother Church, for class instruction, and for all the activities of the Christian Science movement.—(Mrs.) Lita Small, Oak Park, Illinois.
