At the birth of my niece her father called me in great anxiety and announced that she had been born with her nose twisted to the side of her face. The doctor had advised that many months of constant manipulation would be required to reshape her face.
Mrs. Eddy's definition of "children" and that of "creator," given in the Glossary of Science and Health, were earnestly held to. The definition of "children" reads in part (p. 582), "The spiritual thoughts and representatives of Life, Truth, and Love." And the definition of "creator," on page 583, is in part, "God, who made all that was made and could not create an atom or an element the opposite of Himself."
The following morning my brother called me, rejoicing that his baby daughter was so normal that she had to be pointed out to him by the nurse, as he did not recognize her. At the time of the birth the doctor had predicted that the mother would need to have further treatment, but later upon examination he found that she also had been healed.
