TO A READER
I Do
not need, dear friend, to wish
That God will bless your work and you,
For I have seen with vision clear
A heart prepared, an ear attuned.
And lips that, cleansed with altar fire,
With power will speak the holy Word.
For Spirit moves upon the deep
And chooses whom it will. Be sure
The God-appointed cannot fail
In anything to do His will.
No malice, envy, pride, or fear
Can touch you. Love encircles you.
